Project Goals

 

Sustainably improve food security and livelihoods and build resilience of the 44 targeted communities in Somaliland and Puntland

The global objective of this call for proposals is: to contribute to strengthening the resilience of Somalis and bridging the gap between emergency relief and rehabilitation.

The specific objective(s) of this call for proposals is/are: to sustainably improve food security and livelihoods and build resilience among vulnerable households and their communities in Somaliland and Puntland.

 

Key Activities

 

Outcome: Enhanced risk management and disaster preparedness through community action and contingency planning in 44 villages across Somaliland and Puntland.

Outcome: Enhanced livelihood diversification for number of HH women, men, and youth in 44 targeted villages through the restoration and protection of productive assets, value chains and the uptake and adoption of agricultural technology.

 

Impact

 
  • Scale up online fundraising platforms linked to CAAPs for co-financing from diaspora communities, private sector, community and individual contributions: Bulshokaab platform is ready, partners were trained

  • 3 CAAPs implimented and completed (Lasanod)

  • 7 CAAPs in progress (Burao, Badhan, Bosaso & Eyl) set up beneficiaries feedback system, train partners to mobilize communities, receive and process feedbacks

  • SomReP system set up, dedicated short code 3041, IVR sent to the beneficiaries, awareness materials printed.

  • Provide start-up awards and/or start up kits to graduates for self-employment

  • Trained: 50 students on on digital design (Hargabits and Garobits)
