Description

The Bits program, initiated by Shaqodoon in collaboration with key partners, including Oxfam and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering Somaliland's youth through digital education. Since its inception in 2016, Bits has served as a catalyst for innovation, providing comprehensive training in digital design, motion graphics, and front-end and back-end development. This project sought to empower underprivileged youth in IDP and informal settlement areas through ICT-based training and focused on outcomes that included increased employment opportunities, support for local businesses, and positive policy and attitude changes.

  2. Bits aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by preparing students for lucrative careers in the digital industry.

  3. By fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, Bits encourages students to leverage their newfound skills to launch their ventures and contribute to economic growth.
